Cookie Statement

Focuslabs LLC (“Focuslabs”, “we”, “us”, and “our”) is the owner and operator of a suite of educational mobile applications and a social media SaaS platform called Focus Posts. This Cookie Statement explains how we use cookies and similar technologies in the course of our business, including through our websites that link to this Cookie Statement, such as https://focusposts.com, and any website or mobile application owned, operated, or controlled by us (collectively, “Focuslabs Sites” or “Focuslabs Site”), and when our users’ end users visit educational platforms, content pages, or mobile experiences built on or integrated with our Services, or open or interact with emails delivered through our platform. It explains what these technologies are and why we use them, as well as your rights to control our use of them. Capitalized terms used and not otherwise defined in this Cookie Statement have the meanings given to those terms in our Privacy Policy or Terms of Use.

In some cases, we may use cookies and other tracking technologies described in this Cookie Statement to collect Personal Information, or to collect information that becomes Personal Information if we combine it with other data. For more details on how we handle Personal Information, please consult our Privacy Policy. To view or manage the cookies used on Focuslabs Sites, please visit our cookie preference center here: Privacy Settings

What are cookies?
Cookies are small data files that are placed on your computer or mobile device when you visit a website. Cookies are widely used by digital service providers in order to make their websites or applications function correctly, improve user experience, or generate reporting and performance data.

Cookies set by the website owner (in this case, Focuslabs) are called “first-party cookies.” Cookies set by parties other than the website owner are called “third-party cookies.” These third-party cookies enable functionality such as analytics, advertising, and embedded content from other services. These third parties may recognize your device both when you visit the Focuslabs Site and also when you visit other websites or services.

Why do we use cookies and other tracking technologies?

We use both first-party and third-party cookies for several purposes. Some cookies are strictly necessary from a technical perspective in order for the Focuslabs Sites and Services to function properly—these are referred to as “essential” or “strictly necessary” cookies. Other cookies enable us and our third-party partners to understand visitor behavior, tailor experiences, and enhance performance. These include “performance” and “functionality” cookies. For example, cookies help us personalize dashboard layouts, suggest study plans, or remember user settings across visits.

In some cases, our users (such as educators or marketers) may use our Services to deploy their own cookies to track engagement from their learners, leads, or customers. Finally, third-party cookies served through Focuslabs Sites may support advertising, analytics, retargeting, and other purposes. More information is provided below.

Cookies served through our Focuslabs Sites

The specific types of cookies that may be served through the Focuslabs Sites include:

Essential Cookies
These cookies are essential for providing services and features available on Focuslabs Sites. Because they are strictly necessary for functionality, they cannot be disabled without affecting how the Focuslabs Sites work. You may still block or delete them through browser settings, though this may impair usability.

Performance and Functionality Cookies
These cookies help improve the performance and functionality of Focuslabs Sites. For example, they track which pages are most visited, and how users navigate the platform. These are non-essential but enhance usability. If disabled, some features may be unavailable or perform suboptimally.

Analytics and Customization Cookies
These cookies collect information used to help us understand how users interact with Focuslabs Sites, evaluate the effectiveness of our email and marketing campaigns, and personalize platform experiences based on usage data.

Advertising (Targeting) Cookies
These cookies support interest-based advertising. They help ensure ads are relevant to you, avoid repetitive displays of the same ad, and optimize campaign delivery. See the “Targeted Online Advertising” section for more detail.

Other tracking technologies
In addition to cookies, we and our partners may use technologies such as web beacons, software development kits (SDKs), and pixels (also called “clear gifs”) to collect data. These tools help us:

Track user engagement with emails or site pages

Measure campaign and platform performance

Deliver or trigger cookies

Detect referral traffic from other advertising sources

Improve personalization and ad targeting

These technologies often rely on cookies to function, so if cookies are disabled, some of these tools may be less effective.

Targeted online advertising

We work with third-party partners to analyze how users interact with our platforms and to serve tailored ads based on those interactions. These partners may include ad networks and remarketing providers such as Google Ads or Meta (Facebook).

These third parties use cookies, pixels, and other tools to track your behavior across websites and apps, infer your interests, and deliver personalized ads accordingly. This is known as “Interest-Based Advertising.” To learn more or to opt out of such targeting practices, visit www.aboutads.info/choices.

Some third-party vendors may also measure ad effectiveness using cookies or web beacons—for example, by tracking the number of times a specific ad is clicked or viewed.

Facebook (Meta): We use the Meta Pixel to understand how users engage with certain pages for retargeting and advertising. The Meta Pixel stores a cookie that may result in sharing limited visitor information with Facebook for advertising purposes. You can manage your Facebook ad preferences through your account’s Ad Settings. For more details on Facebook cookies, visit: www.facebook.com/policies/cookies

Cookies Served Through the Focuslabs Platform

Member Use of the Focuslabs Platform
We use analytics tools, such as FullStory, to better understand how our users (Members) interact with the Focuslabs platform and to improve overall performance and user experience. FullStory uses first-party cookies to record session activity within our platform. Members may choose to opt out of FullStory-supported analytics through their account settings.

Member Email Campaigns
Every email sent through our Services includes a small graphic file known as a single-pixel gif or web beacon. This file contains a unique identifier that allows us and our Members to detect when a recipient (Contact) opens an email or clicks on specific links. The data collected includes the recipient’s email address, IP address, time of engagement, and browser interactions. This information is used to provide detailed performance reports to Members about their email campaigns.

Member Sites (Connected Sites)
When a Member connects their website or digital property (“Connected Site”) to their Focuslabs account, we may install a JavaScript tracking snippet (“Snippet”) to enable various features, analytics, and automations. This may result in the use of cookies, pixels, or other technologies on the Connected Site. The specific tracking technologies deployed depend on which features the Member activates. End users should consult the respective Member’s privacy and cookie policy for more detailed information.

Optional features that may trigger cookie usage include:

• Google Remarketing Ads
Our remarketing feature enables Members to show ads to prior visitors via the Google Display Network. A Google tracking pixel and a Focuslabs cookie may be placed through the Snippet to deliver ads and track their performance. Users can manage these preferences via www.google.com/settings/ads/plugin.

• Facebook Ads and Remarketing
If enabled, the Snippet installs a Meta (Facebook) pixel on the Connected Site. This pixel allows Members to serve Facebook ads and track engagement. A Focuslabs cookie may also be placed. Facebook’s cookie policies apply and can be found at facebook.com/policies/cookies.

• Product Retargeting Emails
When a recipient clicks a link in a product retargeting email, the Connected Site drops a cookie to track engagement, browsing activity, and conversion rates.

• Popup Forms
Cookies are used to prevent the repeated display of popup forms to the same user within a set timeframe (e.g., 12 months).

Landing Pages and Hosted Websites
If a Member uses Focuslabs features to build landing pages or full websites, cookies and tracking technologies may be automatically deployed via the Snippet or JavaScript tags. These help track visitor counts, link clicks, page views, and shopping cart behaviors. Specific cookies vary depending on the features enabled by the Member.

Other optional tools include:

• Track with Focuslabs
This feature enables Members to measure conversions by tracking unique visits and user actions such as link clicks or form submissions. Data is collected via local storage and cookies.

• Meta Pixel
Focuslabs enables Members to install Facebook’s Meta Pixel for advertising and tracking. As with Connected Sites, this facilitates ad personalization and performance insights.

• Google Analytics
Members can connect their Google Analytics accounts to better understand traffic and behavior on their hosted site. The Snippet may include Google tracking pixels as part of this integration.

How Can I Control Cookies?

You can control your cookie preferences using the following methods:

• Website Cookie Settings
You may customize cookie permissions on Focuslabs Sites by visiting our Cookie Settings center [insert link].

• Browser Settings
Your browser likely includes settings to block or delete cookies. Note that rejecting some cookies may limit functionality across our Services. Each browser provides different tools; check your browser's help menu for details.

• Interest-Based Advertising Opt-Out
To opt out of interest-based advertising by participating networks, visit:

www.aboutads.info/choices

www.youronlinechoices.com

• Mobile Advertising Preferences
You can adjust ad preferences on mobile devices via your iOS or Android system settings. If you opt out, your mobile advertising ID will be reset and data collection will stop.

• Do Not Track (DNT)
Currently, Focuslabs does not respond to DNT signals in web browsers due to a lack of industry-wide standards. We continue to monitor developments in this area. Learn more at www.allaboutdnt.com.
