FitAI Privacy Policy
Effective: 30 April 2026
This privacy policy describes what personal information FitAI ("the app", "we") collects, how it is used, and the third parties with which it is shared. By using FitAI you agree to this policy. You can revoke your consent
to AI processing at any time in Settings → Privacy & AI or delete your account in Settings → Account.
1. Information we collect
We collect the following categories of personal information from you:
• Account information. Email address, full name, and (if you sign up with a social provider) the basic profile fields that provider returns.
• Onboarding profile. Age, gender, height, current weight, target weight, fitness goal, experience level, available equipment, dietary preferences and restrictions, and any injuries you tell us about.
• Body and progress photos. Photos you choose to upload for body scans or weekly progress tracking. You always choose whether to upload a photo.
• Activity data. Workouts you log, meals you log, weight and body-fat entries, and your in-app interaction history.
• Device information. A device identifier we generate locally to associate your anonymous onboarding decisions with your account once you sign up. We do not use third-party advertising identifiers.
2. How we use this information
We use this information to:
• Build and maintain your personalised plan, history, and account.
• Generate AI-powered recommendations (workout plans, meal plans, body scan analysis) when you have given consent (see section 3).
• Send notifications you have opted in to (workout reminders, weekly summaries).
• Diagnose technical problems and protect FitAI from abuse.
• Comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with advertisers.
3. Third-party AI processing
FitAI uses Groq, Inc. as a third-party AI processor to provide AI-powered features. When you have enabled AI features (the in-app AI Processing Notice during onboarding or in Settings → Privacy & AI), the following
information is sent from your device through our servers to Groq:
• Body and progress photos you upload
• Height, current weight, target weight, body fat percentage (when provided)
• Age and gender
• Fitness goal, experience level, available equipment, injuries
• Diet type and dietary restrictions
Groq processes this information solely to return a response (a workout plan, a meal suggestion, or a body analysis). Groq does not use your data to train its models. Groq may temporarily retain requests for system
reliability and abuse monitoring; full details are in Groq's privacy policy at https://groq.com/privacy-policy/. Groq has confirmed it provides the same or equivalent protection of your personal data as required by this
policy.
If you decline AI processing or revoke consent later, we stop sending your data to Groq and AI features become unavailable until you re-enable them. Manual logging, the workout library, and your history continue to work
without AI.
4. Data retention
We retain your account, profile, history, and uploaded photos for as long as you keep your FitAI account active, plus a short period required for backups and legal compliance. You can delete your account and associated data
at any time in Settings → Account → Delete my account. Deletion removes your personal information from our servers; backup copies are purged within 30 days.
5. Sharing with other third parties
In addition to Groq (section 3), we share information with the following service providers strictly to operate FitAI:
• Apple App Store / Google Play — receives subscription transaction events.
• RevenueCat — receives a non-personal app user identifier we generate, plus subscription metadata, to manage your subscription state. RevenueCat does not receive your email or name.
• Firebase Cloud Messaging — receives a device token to deliver push notifications you opted in to.
Each of these processors is contractually required to provide at least the same level of protection of your personal information as required by this policy.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
• Access the personal information we hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate personal information.
• Delete your personal information.
• Object to certain processing.
• Port your data to another service.
• Withdraw consent (you can do this at any time in Settings → Privacy & AI).
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the address in section 9.
7. Children
FitAI is not directed to children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
8. Changes to this policy
If we make a material change — for example, adding a new third-party AI processor or a new data category — we will prompt you to review and re-accept the AI Processing Notice in the app before any new sharing takes place.
